Why will my car photo not upload?

The most common reason is a file the browser cannot read, usually an iPhone HEIC photo. Apple Support explains that iPhone saves photos in the HEIF format by default. MDN Web Docs lists JPEG and PNG as image formats supported in all major browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera and Safari. If the upload button does nothing or the preview stays blank, convert the picture to JPEG and try again. Other causes are a file that is too large for the upload limit or a picture saved from a social app as a screenshot with interface elements around it. Crop those elements away before you upload.

How do I turn an iPhone HEIC photo into a JPEG?

You can change the camera setting for new photos or export an existing photo as JPEG. Apple Support describes both. On the iPhone, open Settings, then Camera, then Formats. Choose Most Compatible; new photos are then saved as JPEG. For a photo you already took, a Mac can export it as JPEG from the Photos app or from Preview. Apple also notes that photos can be converted to JPEG automatically when you import them to a computer over USB. Once you have the JPEG, upload it to the car slot again.

What angle should the car photo have?

Use the front three quarter view: the front of the car and one side visible, shot from roughly headlight height. That angle shows the grille, the lights, the wheels and the side profile in one picture, which gives the model what it needs to rebuild the car as it flies across the frame. A straight side view hides the front. A straight front view hides the length and the wheels. A top down shot or an interior shot does not show the body at all. The whole car should fit in the frame with a little space around it. Cropped bumpers or a missing roof line make the model guess, and guesses show up as odd shapes in the jump.

Why does the car in my video look different from my photo?

The car takes over the path, lighting and motion blur of the original white SUV, so some change is expected. The template is set in warm desert light with a large cloud of dust, which shifts paint colors and softens details. A very low car follows the same high arc as the SUV, so it can look stretched or unusual in the air. Busy backgrounds also cause trouble: if another car, a person or a sign overlaps your car, parts of them can blend into the result. Shoot or pick a photo with a plain background, even daylight and no reflections of other objects across the paint. Dark cars in deep shade lose detail fastest.

Was my car photo rejected by moderation?

Every uploaded photo goes through a content check before anything is generated, and a rejected photo stops the request without using your balance. A car photo is rarely rejected for its subject, but it can be if it contains people in explicit poses, offensive text or a minor. Pictures with a lot of visible text, such as dealer ads, are better avoided anyway, because the template asks for no text or logos to be added. If a car photo is rejected, pick a different picture rather than uploading the same one again.

What if I just want the original SUV?

Leave the second slot empty or use the Classic SUV template. Both keep the white SUV from the original clip and only replace the subject in the chair. That is the quickest route if your car photo keeps failing or if you want a result that stays close to the trend as people know it. You can always come back and try the Anything flies template later with a better photo, or put a pet or another object in the second slot instead of a car.
